The Cemeteries and Crematoria Association NSW (CCANSW) has partnered with Footprint Training to provide a Cemetery Safety training program for cemetery operators and staff. This course is part of a comprehensive strategic program being undertaken by CCANSW to meet the needs of its Members.

 CCA NSW Logo training 320pxThe first of four scheduled Cemetery Safety training courses for this year has been completed at Gungahlin Cemetery in Mitchell ACT on 23/24 October with a further three courses to be held at Rookwood Cemetery on 13/14, 15/16 and 27/28 November 2018.

The two day course in Cemetery Safety is suitable for all cemetery workers and encompasses industry best practice in

  • Grave Preparation

  • Soil Conditions and Shoring Requirements

  • Trench Collapse and Consolidation

  • Exhumation

  • Mausoleum

  • Dealing with Grief in the Workplace

  • Legislation

  • Working in Confined Spaces.

CCANSW Full Members are able to register two participants at no cost as part of their current membership with additional participants or participants from cemetery operators who are not CCANSW Members also able to attend via a registration fee.

The course has proved enormously popular with three of the current sessions booked out. There are still vacancies for the 27/28 November course. Feedback from participants has been very positive with the course being seen as offering real value and providing many ideas for improved practices in the workplace
